bio writing tip 1: no, you are probably not "one of the most exciting DJs/producers to come out of (insert country here)." don't write that. #
bio writing tip 2: every single one of us were really into music as children and probably took some lessons. no need to write that either. #
bio writing tip 3: likewise, don't spend 1/4 of your bio on what u did musically as a child. it's a yawn unless u were some bizarro prodigy. #
bio writing tip 4: DJs, we can safely assume a big reason you do music is to "make people dance." no need to spell that out in your bio, thx #
bio writing tip 5: avoid the phrase "will rock any dancefloor." it's pure cliché at this point, and you don't want to look like a cliché. #
bio writing tip 6: … and "any dancefloor?" really? salsa dancefloors? line-dancing dancefloors? be careful not to wildly overreach. #
so, yes, I read a lot of bios this week. maybe more tips to come. honestly, I really am trying to be helpful here. happy biography writing! #
bio writing tip 7: probably shouldn't say you're "raising the bar for" or "revolutionizing" electronicmusic unless you're Underworld in 1996 #
